Charlotte Grace
Charlotte means petite and feminine
Grace means God's favor
One night, sitting around the dinner table, we discussed possible names for the baby. "What do you think about Charlotte for a girl," I asked. Everyone agreed we like Charlotte and that was her name from that point on. I tried to offer other names: Amelia, Caroline, Morgan...but "No," the kids would say, "Her name is Charlotte, Charlotte Grace!"
I've always loved the name Grace. Little Charlotte is already that. She is God's amazing gift of grace to our lives. I already think of her as my Gracie.
If we had a boy, his name would be Benjamin Elliot. We've been holding onto this name since Sabrina. Benjamin is after Abraham's twin brother and I've always loved the name Elliot.
However...Charlotte it is!

Baby #5 name...any guesses
We've decided on a name for our little baby girl. Can you guess what her name is? These letters make up her first and middle name.

Commentary: Backyard BBQ
I'm so excited to use our metal rolling cart that Abraham painted a bright happy red for me. We picked it up at our neighbors estate sale last fall for $3. It was a really ugly dirty-white with rust stains, but turned out so cute.

Making Cloud Dough Sunday Afternoon with Ethan and Sophia |
photo of the day flour mountain |
Cloud dough is really simple and lots of fun. Mix 8 cups of flour with 1 cup of baby oil. Ethan had a great time measuring out the flour and making a big mountain.
Sophia woke up from her nap and joined in with mixing. We tried out food coloring too but it just made dots of color.
I left the kids for a few minutes and came back to find they were throwing the dough up into the air! They were both covered head to toe and most of it was on the floor. They had a great time!

Mother's Day
my gift this year was planting a garden as a family
photo of the day: hands |
We planted: carrots, peas, green beans, brussel sprouts, radishes, zucchini, arugula, lettuce, tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes in our little square garden apple boxes.
My herbs from last year are growing well in their wine boxes! I just need to add a new basil plant. We also covered our strawberry plants with wire to keep the squirrels from eating all of our berries this year.
I loved my gift!
Thank you Abraham, Abigail, Ethan, and Sophia for a lovely Mother's day.
